Entrepreneurship & Innovation (1)

Before I start, I do not know much about entrepreneurs & entrepreneurship at all. I just know that people who do business are businessmen, other than that I had NO idea about what is going to happen in this subject. I had so many questions going on in my mind-why are we even being taught this in fashion? Do we have to open our own business? Are we going to be the next entrepreneurs? I had no clue!!

However, after taking the first class, my understanding towards entrepreneurship became different. Entrepreneur is someone who is willing to take risk by inventing a new business that does not exist in the market or start up their own business to make profit or take benefit of an opportunity. I learnt the difference between a business and a startup. I got to know that who recognises the startup and how many startups are there which are recognised by DPIIT. Then we also discussed about the reason for failure of startups. I learnt about a new term called market consolidation and what are the characteristics that a person should keep in mind while developing an idea. In the end, we were given a task to identify 10 startups that failed in India. The reason behind it was for us to understand why they failed and what could’ve been done to prevent that.

Overall, this class was very helpful to me personally!
